Did you know that diamonds are given grades based on their quality? These reports are supposed to make it easier for customers to make informed decisions about the stones they buy. But, if you are just looking at the numbers on a report, it can be hard to make the decision that is best for you.
All the diamond grading Labs use the same terminology but apply the standards differently so hypothetically the same quality diamond judged at different labs could be given a different grade by each.
Here at Von’s, we have years of experience deciphering the meaning of these reports so you don’t have to! We think that the Gemological Institute of America, or GIA, has the highest standards for grading their diamonds so we trust the value and grade they assign their stones. Some other labs give their diamonds higher grading than they probably deserve so we always make sure to inspect each stone we purchase to ensure the best quality for you.
Two diamonds that look the same on paper and to the naked eye based on carat weight and cut may have vastly different prices. This is due to things that are best seen under a microscope like a stone with a more yellow tone.
From questions about size, to clarity, to carat weight, our team is here to walk you through the steps of purchasing the best diamond for your budget! We will help you understand not only what you can see on a lab report, but what you see when you take a closer look at the diamond itself.
